Our assignment was to place the web content for our site project into Microsoft Word or some other text editing program. We were suppose to be sure to include paragraph headers, bullet lists, block quotes, links and image placeholders. Five pages were to be included with at least 100 words per page. I did 8 pages. Taking A Break to Relax & Eat

Taking a break is important at this point. We are now in week 10 and it has been very stressful, trying to take 5 classes. Of course, if you know me, I want to do my very best and get all As…if possible! So I decided to take a break and make some homemade soup. Continue reading

About My Final Website Project

Part of our assignment was to let you know what my topic is for the web site. I decided to create a web site for a friend of mine who makes homemade cheesecakes and wanted a web site to promote and sell her cheesecakes. The name of her business is Cynthia’s Kitchen. I have had several discussions with her, but she has not been able to provide me with any content at this point. She has, however, indicated that she likes pink and green. I provided her with a sampling of colors from Kuler, but she has not gotten back to me on her decision yet. I  uploaded the PDFs for the creative brief, color scheme and wireframes. The links are below:

Wireframes and Web Sites

Ok. The best way I can describe what a wireframe is, is to compare it to a blueprint of a house. A contractor cannot just start nailing boards together. First he needs a plan. He needs to know how big the house is going to be. How many rooms there are? What size the rooms are?  Where they are located in the house? Do these rooms have doors that lead to other rooms or windows? (My analogy for internal or external links.) He needs to know a lot of information about the project before he jumps into the building phase. Continue reading

Color and Design

So far I have discovered 2 web sites that are excellent for choosing colors. Whether they are complementary or contrasting or something from your wildest imagination, these 2 web sites are great resources for designers, artists or anyone who has a need to find great color resources. Here they are!

http://colorschemedesigner.com/

http://kuler.adobe.com/#themes/newest

The great thing about Kuler is that you can name and save your selections and then export to other programs. I imported my colors into Adobe InDesign and then converted them from RGB to CMYK color mode.

Both of the web sites are FREE to use! You can’t beat that!
